How booking works

Pick a time and send a request. It isn't confirmed yet: every session has a host, someone from our team who opens the studio, helps you settle in and is there if you need anything.

Once a host says yes, you'll get an email titled "Confirmed". If you haven't got that email, your time isn't confirmed yet. We usually confirm within 2 hours, or within 12 hours if your session is more than 3 days away. If we can't find a host, we'll email you and nothing is charged.

$100 an hour for 2–3.5 hours, $90 an hour for 4–7.5 hours, $85 an hour for 8 or more hours. Prices include GST.

For example: 3 hours is $300.

When you send your request, we put a hold of 25% ($75 in the example) on your card. A hold isn't a charge. It's like when a hotel checks your card at check-in: the money stays in your account, and if your time isn't confirmed, the hold simply disappears.

The deposit is charged once your time is confirmed. If your session is less than 8 days away, we wait until 2 days before it instead, so you can still cancel for free until then.

The rest ($225 in the example) is charged to the same card the day before your session. We email a receipt each time.

Booking within 2 days? We hold the full amount, and charge it once confirmed.

Extras: gear rentals, overtime and paint are listed when you book. Anything added on the day is charged after your session, with a receipt.

More than 2 days before: you get everything back. If we'd already charged your deposit, we keep a $5 processing fee, unless you take studio credit instead, which has no fee.

Less than 2 days before: we keep the deposit and refund the rest, or give it as credit.

Before you cancel, your booking page shows exactly what you'll get back. That amount stays good for 10 minutes.

If we have to cancel, you get everything back, no fee.

Running late? Message us. If you're not here 15 minutes after the start and we haven't heard from you, your host may mark it as a no-show, and nothing is refunded.

Credit is used automatically next time you book. It lasts 12 months, and we'll remind you 14 days before it runs out.

Your confirmation, receipts, payment links and any credit all go to the email you give us, so use one you actually check. We'll send a 6-digit code to make sure it works.

For sessions more than 3 days away, you can pay by e-transfer. Once your time is confirmed, we'll email you the amount, where to send it and a short code to put in the message. Send the deposit within 24 hours to keep your time.
